WHAT SEWING SUPPLIES DO I NEED TO BRING?

You will need to bring a sewing machine with power cord and foot pedal (if applicable).  Machine must be small enough to fit through the carry-on luggage scanner. Also needed is thread, bobbins, snips/scissors, seam ripper, rotary cutter, small cutting mat (8x10 inch recommended), small quilting ruler-at least 6 inches square. Fabric requirements for the onboard project are two 42-piece sets of 10” squares (layer cakes) – one in bright colors and one in background colors. Pre-cut all fabric into 2”x10” strips.  If you will be flying remember to pack all sharp items in your checked bags. Irons are prohibited for passengers.  As group leader, I will be providing irons for use in class.

WHEN WILL QUILTING CLASSES BE HELD?

Classes will be held on at-sea days from 9am – 12noon and 1:30pm – 4:30pm. Don’t worry about missing out on shipboard activities.  Classes will be a casual format.  I’ll catch you up on any instructions missed while enjoying the spa, seeing a show, etc.

IS FOOD & DRINK ALLOWED IN THE SEWING ROOM?

Coffee, tea, water & pastries/cookies will be provided in the sewing room on class days.

HOW CAN I GET MY SEWING MACHINE TO THE SHIP?

You will need to hand-carry your machine onto the ship, which is why it must be small enough to fit through the carry-on luggage security scanner.  Sewing machines may be brought on airplanes as checked baggage – extra fees may apply.  Check with your airline.  If you are travelling from the U.S. Midwest, we are have an option to have your machine driven to FL by one of our cruisers who holds a CDL.  Please contact me for cost and additional details.

WHAT OTHER GROUP EVENTS WILL WE HAVE BESIDES THE SEWING CLASSES?

There is a welcome reception on the first day.  Time & place to be determined.  A selection of complementary cocktails will be provided.
We will also have a farewell reception with hot & cold canapés and a selection of complementary cocktails will be provided. Time & place to be determined.
